A green roof sanctuary. The LDS Conference Center is a 1.4-million-square-foot gathering place that seats 21,200 people in the main auditorium. And what's inside isn't all that counts...this center also has one of the largest intensive green roofs ever accomplished. Our project ran 18 months. As construction progressed and areas became available, we hoisted, conveyed and wheel barrowed more than 6.800 cubic feet of lightweight aggregate soil to the rooftop and exterior planters.

 

We then planted the trees, native shrubs, 21 native grasses, bulbs and other plant specimens. The landscaping represents the mountains and meadows of Utah. It also represents a 1.6-acre piece of heaven on earth.
