Tackling a grueling football deadline. When the 1994 Northridge earthquake hit, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum sustained a whopping $80 million in seismic damages. Restoring this historic venue to its legendary splendor was challenging enough, but time was not on our side. The 17-acre park was home to the USC Trojans and then-LA Raiders -- and football season was hurtling toward us.

We had less than 8 months to complete the installation for a September 3 game. Our teamwork paid off, and USC squared off against the Washington Huskies as scheduled. Can a winning project influence a game's outcome? Hard to say, but USC won, 24 to 17.
