Buena Vista Street

Street of dreams. When Disney's California Adventure Park expanded, Sunshine Plaza, the park's original entrance, was converted to Buena Vista Street. The task was anything but easy street. The painstaking restoration was a balance of old and new. It involved removing giant structures -- replicas of the Golden Gate Bridge and California Zephyr train, for example -- while new structures like the Carthay Circle Theater were added. (The original Carthay Circle Theater hosted the world premiere of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" in 1937.) Adding to the fun? Keeping the construction site out of sight from park goers. But the challenges we faced didn't slow us down -- it's all part of our profession. Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work we go.
